China bans Winnie the Pooh film after comparisons to President Xi

China has a big problem with Winnie the Pooh. This article from The Guardian goes into the whys and wherefores, but in short, people think President Xi looks like the hunny loving bear.

Huh, they may have a point.

Anyway the new Disney Christopher Robin film has been banned in China

Sigh

How Marvel film director James Gunn was demonised by the alt-right

This is a superb article from The Guardian detailing the political motives behind the  attack on James Gunn. It also explains what the difference is between Gunn and Roseanne Barr and sets out a case  for Gunn’s reinstatement.

Personally I’m concerned that in the era of Trump and the Alt-right, Hollywood actors, directors and producers are facing a witch-hunt similar to the infamous McCarthy communist hunt of the 1950s.

That must not happen again.
