The one with The Post, Black Panther and The Cloverfield Paradox

This week we review The Post, Black Panther and The Cloverfield Paradox.

Description

It’s Valentines night so let’s talk Marvel’s Black Panther over a candlelit pint.

Some news and a brief reminiscence at the career of the late John Mahoney before Simon and Mat rip into the reviews. The pair of them look at Steven Spielberg’s The Post, the Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks-starring journalist flick looking at the first great scandal of the Nixon presidency: The Pentagon Papers. Is it the film of the year, or just a Trump-baiting wannabe?

Then a look at The Cloverfield Paradox, a masterpiece of marketing or a film-shaped lump of bad news? With a cast that include David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O’Dowd and Daniel Bruhl, surely such as surprise has to be good?

Finally Mat went and saw Marvel’s latest, Black Panther. Is it just another ho-hum superhero flick, or has something genuinely different appeared. How does the first overtly black (and African) superhero flick do? Well, you’ll have to listen to find out.

As ever jokes, pisstakes and Simon sings (again).
