The one with the Blues as the background music

Yee and indeed Hah as Simon and Mat howl through a show chock full of stuff before the guest blues guitarist starts his set.

In a thoroughly packed hour we discuss the Oscar nominations and celebrate the cruelty of the Razzies. Then it’s off and away with four, yes four, movie reviews. Simon weighs in on XXX: The Return of Xander Cage and the pair discuss Kate Beckinsale’s fifth vampire sequel Underworld: Blood Wars. Mat tells us all about M. Night Shalayman’s Split with James McAvoy and Simon eulogises over La La Land.

We discuss what we’re planning to see next, discuss Euan McGregor vs Piers Morgan all over a couple of pints and a packet of pork scratchings.

We play out on some of the stylings of Kent DuChaine…. He’s awesome, check him out www.kentduchaine.com.

The one with the review of a film we haven’t seen…

It’s a coming of age as AdmitOne turns 25 episodes young. The boys discuss some Han Solo spin off news, a look at the Golden Globes and a bizarre review of a film neither of them have seen, Collateral Beauty.

After a guilty restock of beer, we get down to it with Reviews of Affleck Senior’s gangster thriller Live By Night with Chris Cooper and Zoe Saldana; Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver bring Christianity to 16th century Japan in Martin Scorcese’s Silence, and Affleck Junior stars alongside Lucas Hedges and Michelle Williams in Manchester by the Sea.

If you think we were too hard on Collateral Beauty, erm check out this spoileriffic review: https://www.yahoo.com/tv/collateral-beauty-lets-try-to-make-sense-of-that-crazy-ending-spoilers-225517694.html

I mean, seriously, WTF does Collateral Beauty even mean?

What a difference a flyer makes….

Just looked at our site stats and there’s a marked increase in site traffic since we did our little flyer campaign at the start of December.

The Xmas flyer

So a thank you to everyone who picked up a flyer and stopped by the site. I hope you like the podcast!

Big massive thankyou to the Management teams at Cineworld Regent Circus and Shaw Ridge for letting us spam their clientele.

The one with the hold music

New Year, new show as the boys pay tribute to Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, get scared by the Alien: Covenant trailer, get really scared by The Emoji Movie trailer then get on with their jobs by reviewing Why Him? with Bryan Cranston and James Franco, Assassin’s Creed with Michael Fassbender, Jeremy Irons and Marion Cotillard and the long awaited, much trailered Passengers with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.

Enjoy the show and stop by www.admitonemovies.com and tell us what you think, or find us on Facebook and Twitter.

New Year, New Schedule

Having recovered from the debilitating illness that struck me down for the first day of 2017 (medically known as a hangover) I have ventured out to see my first film of the new year. In a few minutes I’ll be taking in all that Why Him? has to offer.

Following that we’ve got a jam packed release schedule to try and get through. Silence is next on my list, then next week me and Simon will be heading off to early previews of La La Land, Liver By Night and rounding it off with Manchester by the Sea.

So join us in the new year and let us know what you’re excited about or dreading.

Happy new year!
