Disney ups Fox bid
James Marsden joins Sonic
The backlash regarding the profane puppet police procedural The Happytime Murders is now, officially, getting silly. Basically Sesame Workshop, who make Sesame Street are objecting to the film, which is made by Brian Henson, because the puppets look very similar (which they do), and is denigrating their brand (which it is … if kids see it). I recall the same ruckus over Avenue Q when that was released.
Anyway, the Henson film has now responded using a puppet lawyer, which is a touch of class, but also quite silly really.
The film still sounds crap though….
