The one with Red Sparrow, The Shape of Water and I, Tonya

Reviews of the surprising-in-all-sorts-of-ways Red Sparrow, the Best Picture winning The Shape of Water (doing it’s thing for amphibian romances) and the Oscar winning I,Tonya which is all about mental and physical abuse – and ice skating.

Admit One movies return with three new reviews and one new presenter as Claire joins the boys for a chat and a pint

Mat has a piece on the Oscars and there’s a discussion about the pointlessness of awards ceremonies in general.

The one with mother!, Wind River, Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Star Trek: Discovery

Simon and Mat return with reviews of Wind River, the latest from Sicario and Hell or High Water scribe Tyler Sheridan, Darren Aronofsky’s mother! with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, and the riotous Kingsman: The Golden Circle starring seemingly everyone (and Mat tests Simon’s movie knowledge on the cast).

The Trek fans in both of them then insists on checking out the latest Star Trek series, Discovery, with Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs and Michelle Yeoh.

The pair rip into the lacklustre trailer releases, examine the career of Harry Dean Stanton, explain the importance of X Atencio and #Rourkewatch has an actual newsworthy tale of everyone’s favourite Mickey and the bizarre link to retired footballer Rio Ferdinand.

Due to stupidity, we ended up alongside the Beehive Cricket Club’s AGM and they’re … … passionate. Apologies for the background noise.
